The Tapajos National Forest, created in 1974, is part of a protected area that is managed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Conservation of Biodiversity. It’s an exciting look at the Amazon rain forest.
Make sure you bring water, a snack, and (although there are no mosquitos) some bug spray (or permethrin your gear) to prevent chiggers or other insect issues.
