The Dead Sea has no life within it.

Because it is a hypersaline lake, so – really salty. It’s a harsh environment where no fish or aquatic life can survive. Located between Jordan and Israel, and famed as the lowest point on Earth it’s a result of all the water dragging minerals (including salt) to it’s depths. At roughly 430+ meters (1400 feet) below sea level, its extreme salinity is over 30% – which is about 10 times saltier than the ocean. Basically if you drown, it’s impossible to sink, and you’ll just float. Despite that, you never see anyone venture out too far.. The salt creates these crazy looking “ice” – which you’l swear is ice, but it’s just warm salt.
